Hi hi! I'm Sukanya, but you can call me Suki!
I was 6 months old when my mother introduced me to the captivating world of storybooks, leading me to have a voracious reading habit by the time I was 7 years old. In an attempt to get my nose out of a book, I began classical music classes at 6, and eventually began learning Bharathnatyam by the time I was 9. But it wasn't until I was in college that I took a stab at theatre...
I took to it like fish to water.
From then on, I explored various other forms of performance - dance drama, direction, stopmotion animation, and ultimately - storytelling.
With over a decade of experience as a thespian and storyteller, I now conduct reading programs in schools, teacher training workshops on storytelling techniques for the classroom, and storytelling events for community engagement, impact, corporate events and more!
My dream is to be able to tell as many stories, in as mediums as possible, and inspire people to tell their own stories. After all, Plato did say "those who tell the stories rule society". And what better way to rule than through our own stories and experiences?
